Profile: Alison Johnson is the owner of Hudson River Career Resources, LLC, which has delivered a unique blend of services for both employers and job seekers since 2003. For employers, Alison provides direct hire recruitment and outplacement. For candidates, she offers resume writing and a wide range of career search consulting services.
Applying over 20 years of experience in human resources and recruitment, Alison has a deep understanding of how to identify and connect talent with organizations, and how to help individuals position themselves for success in the job market. Within this specialty niche, she has created a deep network and a distinctive approach to the profession. Alison recruits for positions at all levels, and within most industries and locations. Alison was a co-founder and past president of the Capital Region Recruiters’ Network (CRRN), and served as president of the Capital Region HR Association (CRHRA). Graig Carbino, Talent Acquisition/Career Development Specialist at CAP COM Federal Credit Union. Graig has 10 years of recruitment experience in the Capital District. He began his career on the agency side, working for Manpower Group, one of the world’s largest third-party recruitment firms. He also worked as an on-site Program Manager/Recruiter for the Superior Group, before moving to an in-house recruitment role with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Graig joined CAP COM two years ago, and is responsible for planning, organizing, designing/developing and implementing human resources activities relating to recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, career planning/development, and retention of CAP COM employees. He has a BS from Siena College and an MS from the College of Saint Rose, and is a SHRM Certified Professional.
Miriam Dushane serves as Managing Director, Upstate New York for the Recruiting Division of Linium.
Over the past 15 years, Ms. Dushane has built a successful recruiting operation and has overseen the placement of nearly 3,000 high-quality individuals with more than 200 companies across New York’s Capital Region and Tech Valley. Her responsibilities include oversight of all branch operations, recruitment efforts, business development, complete P&L, and employee management, including employee relations, retention, benefits, compensation and compliance.
Prior to Linium, she spent four years as a Human Resources Specialist for Hudson City Savings Institution in Hudson, NY and three years as a recruiter with Snelling Executive Search in Albany, NY.
Ms. Dushane has nearly 20 years of experience in human resources, specializing in recruitment, employee relations, and training and development, and serving industries that range from IT and employment services to banking/finance and health care. Her career has been guided by two central tenets: always doing the right thing over turning a profit, and leading by example.
A SHRM Certified Professional and PHR, Ms. Dushane has been active for many years in the Capital Region Human Resource Association, serving as Chair of the Legislative and Public Relations Committees and Secretary of the Executive Committee. In 2015, she received the prestigious recognition as a Woman of Excellence by the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce in the category of Excellence in Management (1-99 employees).
